1. Rejuvenating Food Forest – Jharsa Bandh
Starting from 2019, the first community food forest in Jharsa was created to restore green spaces, promoting biodiversity and urban greening.
The Jharsa Bandh rejuvenation project is a remarkable environmental initiative aimed at transforming a neglected water body into a thriving natural food forest. Spearheaded by Art of Living with support from SafeExpress and Nagarro, this project falls under the #10000foodforests movement and aims to restore biodiversity and build a self-sustaining ecosystem. By reviving the land with over 60 varieties of native plants, it not only helps in water conservation but also encourages local flora and fauna to revive, creating a rich habitat. This endeavor has brought together community volunteers, residents, and local organizations to face the numerous challenges of restoring degraded land. The project serves as a model of ecological renewal, highlighting the power of community action in fostering sustainable urban ecosystems and addressing environmental issues.
2.Suryathon – First ever Nasha Mukti campaign
Suryathon is an innovative community event designed to address youth addiction by blending sports, music, and awareness into a powerful platform. Organised by The Art of Living in partnership with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Suryathon goes beyond a traditional marathon, engaging youth in positive activities that foster a healthy lifestyle and highlight alternatives to substance abuse. Held in Gurugram, the event gathers educators, local leaders, and artists to inspire collective action against addiction, offering a united front for a brighter, drug-free future.
3. Malba Hatao
The “Malba Hatao” movement by Making Model Gurugram (MMG) is an initiative focused on addressing the growing issue of construction and demolition (C&D) waste across Gurgaon. As part of MMG’s larger vision for a cleaner, more organized city, this movement works with residents, RWAs, and municipal authorities to identify, report, and remove illegal dumping sites and unattended debris. The campaign emphasizes systematic waste collection and recycling, aiming to minimize environmental impact and improve public spaces. Through awareness drives, collaborative clean-ups, and policy advocacy, “Malba Hatao” strives to create a sustainable waste management culture in Gurgaon, enhancing the city’s overall livability and aesthetics.
4. Plastic Free Gurugram
Making Model Gurugram’s (MMG) Plastic-Free Gurgaon initiative is a community-driven effort aimed at reducing plastic usage and waste in the city. This initiative brings together residents, RWAs, schools, businesses, and local government to promote sustainable alternatives and raise awareness about the environmental impacts of plastic. The movement includes educational campaigns, waste segregation programs, and practical steps for plastic reduction, such as encouraging reusable materials, facilitating plastic waste recycling, and organizing cleanup drives. By pushing for policy changes and fostering responsible consumer behavior, MMG’s Plastic-Free Gurgaon initiative envisions a cleaner, greener Gurgaon with reduced plastic pollution and healthier living spaces for all.
5. Cyber Crime Awareness
The Cyber Crime Awareness Webinar, to be co-hosted by Making Model Gurgaon (MMG) and the Cyber Crime Unit of Gurgaon Police, is designed to equip the residents of Gurgaon with essential knowledge on cyber crime threats and prevention methods. This event will bring together key leaders and experts to discuss emerging trends in cyber crime, preventative measures, and resources available to citizens.

6. Waste Management Roll Out
Making Model Gurugram (MMG) and the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) will be joining forces to launch a comprehensive waste management initiative aimed at creating cleaner, more sustainable neighborhoods. The program involves setting up structured waste segregation practices, encouraging community engagement, and promoting eco-friendly disposal methods. Residents will receive support in implementing best practices for waste reduction and recycling. Through awareness sessions, workshops, and collaboration with Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), MMG and MCG aim to establish Gurugram as a model city in waste management, inspiring others to adopt sustainable waste practices for a healthier environment.
This Roll Out will be initially done with 20 High Rises and within 2 years the plan is to reach out to 500 High Rises and Plotted Colonies within Gurugram.
